Every year on November 19th, we gather in spirit with women worldwide to honor women entrepreneurs' trailblazing courage, creativity, and resilience. This day reminds us that the heartbeat of innovation, economic growth, and community transformation often lies in the hands of visionary women stepping boldly into their power.
At the Red Threads Collective, we believe women entrepreneurs are leaders and divine weavers of change, crafting empires rooted in purpose, passion, and perseverance. Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) is our sacred invitation to celebrate this journey, reflect on its meaning, and inspire each other to reach even higher.
Women entrepreneurs are driving remarkable change across the globe. In the U.S. alone, 42% of businesses are owned by women, generating over $1.9 trillion in annual revenue. Globally, women are launching businesses at faster rates than men, with female entrepreneurship increasing by 10% annually in emerging markets. Despite these strides, many women face barriers such as limited funding opportunities - women-led startups receive only 2.3% of venture capital funding - making our collective support and celebration of their achievements even more vital.
Here are ways to honor this extraordinary day...
3 Ways to Celebrate
Support a Woman-Owned Business: Seek out a local or online business owned by a woman and make a purchase or share their story with your network. Your support amplifies her mission and reinforces her place in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Give the Gift of Mentorship: Reach out to an aspiring woman entrepreneur and share your wisdom. Whether it’s a coffee chat, a virtual call, or an ongoing mentorship, offering your guidance can light the way for someone navigating the path you’ve walked.
Reflect and Realign Your Vision: Dedicate time to reconnect with your entrepreneurial purpose. Revisit your goals, celebrate your wins, and refine your strategy for the year ahead. Whether you’re leading a team or a solo venture, clarity is your compass for success. BONUS IDEA: Join the Collective or buy a membership for a woman in your world who would revel in the sisterhood and support here!
3 Journal Prompts to Inspire Reflection
What does being an entrepreneur mean to me? Reflect on how entrepreneurship has shaped your identity, values, and purpose.
What obstacles have I overcome in my entrepreneurial journey, and how have they strengthened me? Honor the lessons learned through challenges and celebrate your resilience.
What impact do I want to leave through my work, and how can I align more fully with that vision? Envision the legacy you’re building and explore ways to infuse it with even greater intention.
Here is a mantra for us to repeat today:
“I am the architect of my dreams, weaving purpose into every thread of my journey. With courage and clarity, I rise, thrive, and inspire.”
