Choosing a guiding word each year has become a meaningful ritual (hello, 21st year!) that sets the tone for my intentions and serves as a compass throughout the months ahead… and this year’s choice truly resonates with me.
This year, my word found me sitting in the pre-dawn stillness with Lizzie by my side on the Oregon Coast in Depoe Bay, a favorite stop on our annual trek to California to share time with family. As we snuggled with the sound of the intense waves crashing on the rocks below, I reflected deeply on the themes and energies shaping the next chapter of my Life and Work.
Meet my 2025 Guiding Word:
RESONANCE
Definition: Resonance is the quality or state of echoing, reverberating, or being in harmony with something. It reflects how energy, sound, or emotion connects and amplifies between two or more entities.

Why Resonance?
At its core, resonance is about connection, harmony, and amplification. It’s the idea that when two things align, their vibrations amplify one another, creating something more significant than the sum of their parts. Whether it’s the relationships I cultivate, my work, or the energy I bring to my daily life, resonance speaks to being in tune with what matters most and creating ripples that extend far beyond myself.
It represents building relationships, creating alignment, and weaving a sacred web of connection through my Work inside the Red Threads Collective and my soon-to-launch The Aligned Woman program. Resonance perfectly encapsulates these efforts and the next evolution of my journey.
For the Red Threads Collective, resonance represents the sacred weaving of relationships. I honor each thread that connects with purpose and intention to create a tapestry of shared empowerment.
In The Aligned Woman, resonance is about discovering and amplifying each participant’s unique frequency, helping them align with their truth - the first step in creating lives filled with joy, expansion, and impact.
I love digging into the etymology of my words… and this word is so rich and delicious. In physics, resonance occurs when one object vibrates at a specific frequency, which causes another object with the same natural frequency to vibrate. This phenomenon is a powerful metaphor for life: when we align with energies, relationships, and opportunities that match our own frequency, we amplify our potential and create harmony. This scientific principle of resonance - one vibration sparking another - reminds me of the sacred connections we form, the ripple effects of our actions, and the dynamic power of alignment in action.
To bring this word to life, I plan to focus on practices and tools that nurture connection and alignment, including:
Daily Rituals: Starting each day with meditation, journaling, or simply a moment of silence to attune to my inner frequency.
Creative Expression: Weaving my energy into programs, writing, and collaborations that amplify my message and mission.
Sacred Connections: Deepening relationships within the Red Threads Collective and beyond, seeing each person as part of a divine tapestry.
Mindful Living: Using tools like essential oils, crystals, and music to create environments that resonate with peace and creativity.
Already, the word resonance has begun to show up in powerful ways. I see it in the way ideas flow seamlessly when I’m aligned with my purpose. I feel it in the deep, meaningful conversations I’ve had with members of my community and my beloved inner circle of Weavers. I hear it in the music and words that inspire me to keep going.
